The Power Of Words

The words we use tell what’s in our heart. 😰 The words we use tells our level of spiritual maturity. Got fruit? 😰

20130830-223347.jpg
We are living in a time where words travel faster and can go viral quickly! Isn’t it amazing the things that grab our attention. 😨

We choose every time we communicate to draw or repel. We project a positive or negative attitude with our words.

God bless us as we learn to choose our words to build up, heal and encourage one another. 😊

Comments, thoughts, anyone? Anyone? 😉

Proverbs 8:6 – Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

Proverbs 15:1 – A soft answer turn away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Proverbs 18:21 – Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Proverbs 21:23 – Whoso keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.

God Made Us Different

One sign of maturity is the ability to be comfortable with people who are not like us.
– Virgil A. Kraft-

Ann - A Friend of Jesus 2013

Everyday that God blesses us with life is an opportunity to sow love and kindness to people around us. Especially those who are different. We all can relate to different.

Sometimes different can balance us. Sometimes different makes us grow. Sometimes different is free will to choose. Sometimes different does not know any better. Sometimes different is lost. Sometimes different needs Jesus. Sometimes, we don’t know the journey of different.

20130513-041836.jpg
Just because we are different does not mean we can’t learn something new from one another. We must learn to adapt to different and recognize that actions speak louder than words and our actions can lead different to Jesus.

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: and before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one…

Jeremiah 17:7-8, The Blessedness of Trusting The Lord

We are blessed when we put our faith, hope, and trust in The Lord! 😀

20130828-223420.jpg
God bless us, as we remember, Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Thank you Lord, that your Word reminds us that you can bring about good from any situation.

Faith It and Roll With It Wednesday

Wahoo! It’s faith it and roll with it Wednesday! (big smile) Friends, there will always be something that God is changing within us. Faith it! (smile) There will always be someone trying something, roll with it. (smile) Sometimes, we must lighten up! (smile)

20130827-221811.jpg

Hebrews 11:6, says “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarded of them that diligently seek him;” and Romans 10:17 says “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Here’s the thing, we’re to have faith. Believe and seek God, with no doubting or wavering. Faith it! Learning to be positive, faith it! Adapting to things, we can’t change, roll with it! (smile)

Sometimes, standing on faith for _________, can take awhile for the manifestation, faith it and roll with it! (smile) Sometimes, x, y or z, continues, roll with it! (smile) Patience, faith it! Work drama, roll with it! Kindness, faith it! Heavy traffic, roll with it! (small smile)

Quit using emoticons and type (smile), roll with it! (smile, wink, stick tongue out)

Finding ways to stay positive during challenges will gain experience and provide another way to handle something or someone! (really big smile)

Faith it and roll with it are little methods to help walk through the thing or adjust to the someone. (smile) Sometimes, singing or listening to a favorite song helps, as well as, smiling and laughter. (big smile) God is always in charge and His will be done!

God bless us as we faith it and roll with it today! (smile) We look marvelous! Faith it and roll with it!

A Mother Theresa Story

Be blessed reading A Mother Theresa Story 😊

Morning Story and Dilbert

A successful businessman traveled to India to spend a month working in one of Mother Teresa’s shelters. He longed to meet the tiny nun, but Mother Teresa was traveling, and it wasn’t until the day before his departure that he received an audience. When he was finally in her presence, much to his surprise, he burst into tears. All the times when he’d been self-centered, busy or focused on his own gain flashed before his eyes, and he felt an enormous sadness that he had missed so many opportunities in his life to give of himself and his resources. Without a word, Mother Teresa walked over to where he was seated, put her hands on his shoulders and looked deeply into his eyes. “Don’t you know,” she said, “that God knows you are doing the best that you can.”

Prayer For The Broken

Let us pray, by faith, that God brings comfort and peace, to brokenness.

20130826-023227.jpg

Let us, by faith, sow love and kindness because thats what Jesus would do. As always, Gods will be done.

God bless you!

Smile That Button Doesn’t Work Anymore (Part 2)

Ugh, I have another button! (shock face) How about you? Can I get a witness? (smile) Sometimes, we must have a sense of humor to laugh out loud or if we must sing a song! (wink and smile)

20130825-000127.jpg
We talk a lot about the fruit of the spirit–love (giving), joy (gladness), peace (free from worry and fear), long suffering (patience), gentleness (kindness), goodness (generosity), faith (dependability), meekness (gentleness) and temperance (self-control), because fruit is needed for growth and maturity, as well as, healing the brokenness we may not know exist within us.

I remember back in the day, when I was having issues. I had the nerve to think it was everybody else until someone told me , “honey, you have a lot of brokenness in you”. (shock face) God is the ONLY one who will put the right folks in our lives to heal stuff that is not fruit!

As we grow and mature, being rooted and grounded in the Word, having the fruit of the spirit within us, and led by the Holy Spirit, we become whole and emotionally healthy individuals in Christ. No brokenness or mask wearing can exist in a spirit led life. (wink and grin) They will know us by our fruit. (smile)

Communication is important, thus my button. smile) We all communicate differently. We are all on different levels. God is working on each of us for different things. Thank God for his mercy and his grace during those times, that button is pushed!

Relationships without clear communication or being unequally yoked can push buttons. Any one carrying burdens God never meant for them to carry can push buttons.
_________________(fill in the blank) can push buttons.

Let’s talk about faith. Having faith in God is a beautiful thing to behold! There is no doubt, worry or stress when our faith is in him! (smile)

To live a life of faith requires perseverance (long sufferings brother) (grin) knowing God will equip us as he leads us to walk, crawl or run through the challenge. Pray and cast, by faith and keep our hands off while releasing it to God so that button doesn’t work anymore! (smile)

God bless us as we have faith with regards to our button that doesn’t work anymore!

Please share any comments about your button. (smile)

Smile That Button Doesn’t Work Anymore

Blessings as we revisit Smile, That Button Doesn’t Work Anymore (smile)

Ann - A Friend of Jesus 2013

Most of us have a button. You know, the button that gets pushed when something or somebody _________; or traffic jam, raining and walking with no umbrella, watching favorite tv show and the power goes off; somebody just has to tell you something and 30 minutes later, you’re still listening. Come on, my friends, let’s get real. (shock face) Until we surrender to the Holy Spirit, the mask we wear starts to crack thus the button. Ain’t life grand! (smile)

As we continue, to change and grow, in spiritual maturity, we start to understand how the Word of God ties to walking through life challenges.

20130529-234325.jpg

The bible is full of scriptures to apply to life challenges. For example, in Philippians 4:11-13, Paul states “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to…

The body of Christ is a vital, living organism.  If it is not growing, it is not healthy. The fact that thousands of churches are closing every year, and thousands of others are losing members in droves begs the question: “why”?

One of the big reasons that I have seen is that many churches and seemingly many denominations have become ingrown.  Focus is too often on worshipping tradition and defending the faith…

Top of the day to our blessed afriendofjesus2013 friends! When I started this blog, I knew nothing about blogging or what to expect. I am humbled and grateful by the whole blogging experience. I just love The Lord! I am led by the Holy Spirit and enjoy a deep and personal relationship with Jesus! All of my postings are written from a “we” perspective because as Jesus changed my life, and my mind was renewed, my “I” became “we”. It is not my intention to offend or judge anybody by my way of expression.

Today, I am writing from both (I and We) perspectives. God put a message on my heart that we hope opens eyes and gives hope to someone to forgive and release all the stuff being carried to him (God). God is…

Only God Can is the Word of the Day

When we’re ready, God can change us. Be blessed by this reblog! (wink)

Ann - A Friend of Jesus 2013

We all have stuff. We all need prayer. Both are processes we must walk through as God creates opportunities for change.

God created everyone different. We’ve had different life experiences. There are things only God can change. Free will to choose still causes challenges among us.

Some have wounds so deep only God can heal. Some are angry and only God can deliver them. Some are in unloving relationships only God can give courage to talk about. Some are grieving over a failed marriage, broken heart, death of someone they loved and only God can heal the hurt or feeling of abandonment.
20130429-223834.jpg
Some have trust issues only God can resolve. Some have been controlled by people for so long only God can set them free. Some wear so many masks to hide shame only God can give self esteem and self worth back. Some can’t forgive or forget _________, only…

Not Everyone Thinks The Way You Think

We are all on different levels in life. There may be similarities, but differences depending on our life experiences. Learning to adapt and communicate with others is maturity. (smile)
20130821-214753.jpg
Our level of spiritual maturity and the presence of the Holy Spirit is evident by the fruit within us. This allows us to show Jesus to a hurting world.

When we know who we are in Christ, the fruit within us, love (giving), joy (gladness), peace (free from worry and fear), long suffering (patience), gentleness (kindness), goodness (generosity), faith (dependability), meekness (gentleness) and temperance (self-control) comes out in what we say (oral or written) and how we conduct ourselves. (smile) They will know us by our fruit! (smile)

When we are spirit led, people notice something different. (smile) They watch how we handle stuff in life. They watch how we adapt and adjust without judging. We never know who is watching or listening to the words we speak or how we act. (shock face) Just quoting bible chapters and verse doesn’t mean you are spirit led and know The Lord. Actions speak louder than words. (smile)

When we are spirit led, love flows out of us and we focus on positive and uplifting ways to help others, as we keep moving forward in life. We release things to God through prayer. We learn to roll with it because God is always in charge and works all things out. Thank God for his mercy and his grace, when we stumble!

God bless us as we move forward knowing that every good thing comes from above! (wink)

It’s Roll With It Wednesday

You gotta love roll with it Wednesdays! 😉 Roll with it is a choice. Roll with it, is faith and trusting God to equip us with sufficient grace to crawl, walk or run through today! Anything else is irrelevant! 😜

20130820-221915.jpg
We all have things going on in our life. We are standing on faith for something or someone. We have prayed every prayer and awaiting God’s perfect timing. Roll with it. 😉

We have to continue living our life and roll with it until God manifest that something or someone. 😉 Be positive because Philippians 4:13 says “I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me”.

Roll with it keeps us moving forward. Sometimes, we can smile and roll with it. 😃

Sometimes, we can smile, sing a sing, and roll with it because Romans 8:28 tells us “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose”.

Ain’t life grand! 😜 Roll with it!

God bless us as we roll with it, by faith, and let Your will be done! 😊

I’ve Been Nominated: The Liebster Award

Glory to God and thank you Booklovers1, at http://booklovers1.wordpress.com for nominating me for the Liebster Award.

20130820-201602.jpg

I’ve come to realize Blogs Awards can create camaraderie and acknowledgement that fellow bloggers enjoy what we do. 😉

I am humbled by the nomination and give glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus! He gives me life and purpose to let my light shine through words on a page. 😜 Thank you again, Booklovers1 for the nomination! 😉 Now onto the rules. 😜

However upon accepting the Liebster Award, there are a few rules that need to be followed:
– Link back the blogger that tagged you
– Nominate ten others and answer the questions of the one who tagged you
– Ask ten questions for the bloggers you nominate
– Let your nominees know of their award
Booklovers1 Questions:
1. If you could pick a favourite author who would it be and why? No favorite author. I love to read a variety of books. I have a few recommended ones I am still reading. What specific book or series of theirs do you highly recommend? I really enjoyed and highly recommend First Dance by Brian Connolly.
2. If you could pick any fictional world to live in, which would it be? What is so appealing about it? I honestly have no answer for this question, I’m a reality in the present kinda girl 😉
3. Out of all the fictional characters you have been introduced to, who do you really want to meet? What is it about them that appeals to you? Nobody 😉. Nothing 😉
4. What is your favourite bible verse and why (if it is not too personal)? I have 2 favorites–Romans 8:28 is my favorite because no matter what we go through, God works all things out and 1 Corinthians 13 because love never fails. 😀
5. What has been your lifelong dream or aspiration? To be a awesome wife and do my Heavenly Father’s business 😃
6. If you were able to learn any language, which would it be? To be honest, I have not thought of learning another language. I enjoy butchering my native language English 😜. Ain’t life grand! 😉
7. You find a time travelling machine in your backyard. What period of your life would you revisit? If I found a time machine, I would call somebody to come get it quick 😃 I’ll just say there is no period I want to revisit 😰. God healed me from the past. I can talk about it with ease but no way would I ever want to revisit 😁
8. You are generously given 1 million dollars. How would you spend it? I would give 100k to my business and the rest to people in need. 😊
9. If you were able to pick an actor/actress for one of your favourite fictional characters, who would it be? I have no fictional reference…reality is my choice.
10. Are there any recent movies you highly recommend? No Sir, haven’t had time for movies 😜

I nominate the following 10 blogs:

The Time We Spend with God is of Essence

Awesome post about The Time We Spend With God. God bless you!

This Day With God

Yesterday, I shared this link to the Sermon Podcast at the church I attend. A point I noted from the message titled “Awe Factor” is that the time we spend with God is of essence. Studying His Word, reflecting on how to apply His Word, and time with Him in prayer brings power and direction in life.

When we put God first, the other things in life like family, children, health, and friends seem to fall into place.  Here’s a video with a philosophy about how we use our time: The empty pickle jar.

Time goes fast so share the right words now; mark another’s life now, build relationships now, make memories now, and spend time with those you love now.

God wants His children to enjoy life (and Him); but so many Christians are missing out on the absolute joy that comes from the fellowship with the Lord that is developed over time…through an intimate personal one on One relationship with Him.  This relationship starts by placing our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.

Smile and thank God for friends who are always there in times of need. 😉

Proverbs 17:17, tells us “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity”. Smile and remember those times, a friend or friends stepped up, and had our back. 😃

We all bring something to the table! (smile) Friends, we have got to let go of fear! Fear keeps us stuck!

Pray and have faith! Life is to be enjoyed, in spite of our stuff. God will put people in our path to help us grow. As we open up and share who we really are, people get to know us and the awesome God we serve! Ain’t life grand! (wink and a smile)

God bless us as we move forward sharing our own communication style and let Your will be done.

Kindness is the next best thing we can offer each other as we grow to love unconditionally. Sometimes, we can choose not to make that comment, notice that flaw and assume the worst about someone. Kindness and unconditional love go together. 😜

Remember we are working to love like Jesus loves. 1 Corinthians 13:3-13 (NKJV) – 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears…

There are times in everyone’s life that things happen–some we caused, some we did not control, some we could not control–that will cause us hurt.  That’s life–stuff happens.  What happens after the “stuff happens” depends upon our response to the events.  We can hold on to hurts and allow the hurt to direct our lives and decisions or we can let it go and allow God to heal the hurt and trust Him to direct us along a path to happiness.  It is our choice.  For those who are hurting and cannot go back in time to change anything, it is time to let go.  Forgive self, parents, friends, enemies, predators, teachers, siblings, children, spouses, former spouses, bosses, former bosses, anyone or anything that has caused you to hurt–it’s time to forgive, let it go and let God do all that He has promised to do in your life.

Jesus: I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard. My Father examines every branch in Me and cuts away those who do not bear fruit. He leaves those bearing fruit and carefully prunes them so that they will bear more fruit; already you are clean because you have heard My voice. Abide in Me, and I will abide in you. A branch cannot bear fruit if it is disconnected from the vine, and neither will you if you are not connected to Me.

I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you abide in Me and I in you, you will bear great fruit. Without Me, you will accomplish nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is like a branch that is tossed out and shrivels up and is later gathered to be tossed into…

We have to keep our sense of humor! 😜 Stuff happens, how we chose, to deal with it, shows our growth.

Here’s the thing, some stuff weights us down and should be released to God. God is the only one who can change and heal a heart! Stuff keeps us stuck. Let it go. 😰

We must learn to be ourselves! 😜 God loves you! Ain’t nobody like you! 😀

In a sense, these 7 Rules sum up Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me and Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who,are the called according to his purpose.

I especially like Rule #2 and #7. 😜 What are yours?

God bless you! 😀

The Peril of Doubting

My Sermon Outlines

The Danger of Neglecting Salvation
Hebrews 2:1-4

Drastic Consequences

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. (Hebrews 2:1)

This book was written to the Jews who were so fond of the law and felt it was the way to God.
The writer of Hebrews is writing to encourage them to follow Jesus and show how the Gospel (Jesus) is greater than the law.

In the previous chapter, the writer explains the superiority of Jesus over prophets, angels and creation. As the chapter concludes he leaves us with the thought of the eternal Christ and His angels ministering to the heirs of Salvation.

It is therefore fitting that he begin chapter two with the subject of Salvation.
How he begins chapter 2 though is rather interesting…

He begins with a plea to give…

Life is all about control.  To know the difference between what we can control and what we can’t is a prerequisite for wisdom.  It is a great source of comfort for all believers to know that God is in control of all things.

On an individual level we are all going to be controlled by our flesh or by our spirit.  As long as we choose to reject God’s…

Gratitude

We’re going to learn today that when we are grateful for the little things, it’s easier to accept that stuff will happen in life. Some stuff will help us grow. 😜

20130804-025101.jpg

Each day that the good Lord wakes us up is a blessing! 😜 Good or bad, right or wrong, we make our own choices. There are times in life, we have to take responsibility for our actions.

Life is to be enjoyed, regardless of what other people are doing. Everyday, we have opportunities to sow love or a smile that could give a different perspective to someone.

Here’s the thing, whether we are saved or unsaved, life still happens! 😨 Gratitude allows us to know that regardless of what is going on, God is still in charge! 😀

Gratitude is thanking God for all good things and praying for a better tomorrow. Smile, it looks good on you!

Please Help Little Riley O’Brien

Friends, let us support Brother Bruce Mills, share God’s group thoughts for 8/01/2013 to help Little 5 yr old Riley’s Urgent Need! God bless you!

Matthew 25:35-36… for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ (NKJV)

Today my writing has a dual purpose. First, I am writing to share a little bit about what the Bible (God’s inerrant Word) clearly teaches us about having compassion for those in need…and second I am writing to help a specific little 5 year old boy named Riley.

Riley O’Brien is a walking, breathing, medical miracle…who is now in desperate need (along with his family), for a healthy place to live. Little Riley was born with Heterotaxy Syndrome and Congenital heart disease. The doctors said he had a 50% chance of living past age 1. Praise God…at age 5, Riley continues to beat the odds.

After 3 Years, 3 Months, 3 Weeks, and 3 Days of waiting for 3 organs– Riley received his Bilateral Lung/Heart transplant on March 5, 2013. Dr. Spray and the medical miracle team at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia conducted this very rare transplant surgery.

You can read about Riley’s miracle life to date at this link… http://www.HelpRiley.com Right now the family is in desperate need for a new home for Riley and themselves. The small 700 sq ft home, the O’Briens’ are still paying for, is laden with mold, which they could not bring Riley home to. So they are currently renting an apartment, until Camden County Habitat for Humanity builds Riley a new home. Praise the Lord for this organization !!

I am asking all readers to open their hearts and their wallets for a couple of dollars. If we can all share this e-mail…hit the share button on the posting in Facebook…re-blog on http://www.wordpress.com …re-tweet, or otherwise share this urgent need for the O’Brien family…this posting could go viral, and God willing, Riley will get his house !!

Bet you’re thinking you don’t know little Riley O’Brien. Here is where the opening scripture, spoken by Jesus Himself, comes into play. Jesus was speaking to both the righteous and the unbelievers in the opening scripture. The righteous responded with this, in…

Matthew 25:37-39… “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ (NKJV)

And the Lord answers them saying this, in…Matthew 25:40… And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ (NKJV)

Friends, giving a blessing, not a hand out to Riley and his family, is in God’s eyes…giving to God directly. Please consider helping this family in need with a few dollars…or at least pass on this request any way you can, so that Riley and his family’s needs are met.

You can go to http://www.smile4rileyhouse.com for the latest on Riley. If donations are made on 8/02/2013 (this Friday), the donations will be doubled by the “Hero Network” up to $100 = $200, for this one days donations. You can send a blessings to help Riley and his family by going to http://www.smile4rileyhouse.com , clicking on “Donate to Wish”, and then clicking on “Grant a Wish”… You can also donate via check – Camden County Habitat for Humanity, 6955 Central Highway, Pennsauken, NJ 08109

If the Lord leads you, please consider asking your church to place a notice in the church bulletin with Riley’s help website http://www.smile4rileyhouse.com Thank you, and be blessed !!

Please help me in this prayer for the O’Brien family…

Heavenly Father, we pray that this urgent financial need by the O’Briens’ will be heard by You, and that the hearts of all those who read about this family’s plight will be urged to share their finances and/or forward this message on. Your Word tells us that the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective (James 5:16b); and we pray boldly, so that You hear our request… If it be Your will, please grant this house for Riley, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ, bruce r mills

P.S. Any money donated that goes beyond the family’s needs, will be passed on to the
Camden County Habitat for Humanity, to help other families in desperate need of your help.
