Ann – A Friend of Jesus 2013

Sharing life through the Word of God with love, encouragement and faith in challenging times (smile)

#atozchallenge G is for…

Never get tired of doing little things for others, sometimes those little things occupy the biggest parts of their hearts.
~ Unknown Author ~

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
~ 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 ~

Hello friends. (smile) Welcome to Day 8 of the A to Z Challenge and my weekly Friday commitment to Celebrate The Small Things.

I extend a heartfelt welcome to Lexa and co-hosts, L.G. Keltner @Writing Off The Edge and Tonja Drecker @Kidbits Blog.

I celebrate not giving up on completing the A to Z Challenge. (wink)

My thoughts on the upside to giving:

Genuine giving is a beautiful thing.

Giving time, a listening ear, encouragement, hugs, a smile, can make someone’s day or even change the atmosphere around us. (smile)

Sometimes, giving is just sitting with someone. No words are needed, just being there helps.

Generosity is an open heart God can use
In sowing goodness, reaps goodness
Vocalized praise for everything good is uplifting
I thank God for unexpected blessings
Never-ending grace, Praise The Lord
Grounded to keep moving forward

I believe giving heartfelt gestures touch even our enemies and glorifies God.

Abundant blessings to keep the faith and enjoy today.

I would love to hear your thoughts on giving. (smile)

I agree that giving is a “heartfelt gesture.” We learn from Moroni in the Book of Mormon…

” 6 For behold, God hath said a man being evil cannot do that which is good; for if he offereth a gift, or prayeth unto God, except he shall do it with real intent it profiteth him nothing.

7 For behold, it is not counted unto him for righteousness.

8 For behold, if a man being evil giveth a gift, he doeth it grudgingly; wherefore it is counted unto him the same as if he had retained the gift; wherefore he is counted evil before God.”

thanks for blogging about such thoughtful and meaningful subjects!

This is so true. Many times someone needs your time and not your pocket book.
Very well said.

Visiting from the A to Z Blog Challenge.

Giving is the best part of life when we do it without a reason or anything in return.. It is like a gift. Gift of time, gift of hand, gift of shoulder, gift of presence ..

Giving is important to get satisfaction in life. You have written so well on giving.

All in glory of God.

Have a good time.. 🙂

I think this is my favorite of your A to Z posts so far. To give freely is such a wonderful thing. Good luck with the rest of A to Z!
