Celebrate Potato Chips

Everyone smiles in the same language.

Hello friends. (smile) Happy Friday! Welcome Lexa and co-hosts to another blessed Friday to celebrate the small things.

This week I celebrate anything that brings a smile. (grin)

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato chips and a six-pack of root beer and started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old woman. She was sitting in the park, just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old lady looked hungry, so he offered her some chips. She gratefully accepted it and smiled at him.

Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered her a root beer. Again, she smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.

As twilight approached, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave; but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old woman, and gave her a hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, “What did you do today that made you so happy?” He replied, “I had lunch with God.” But before his mother could respond, he added, “You know what? She’s got the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen!”

Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her face and he asked, “Mother, what did you do today that made you so happy?” She replied! “I ate potato chips in the park with God.” However, before her son responded, she added, “You know, he’s much younger than I expected.”

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime! Embrace all equally.

Have lunch with God, bring chips.

Blessings, my friends, as we enjoy today by faith and with a smile!

Celebrate The Small Things, 15 May 2015

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.~ Romans 14:19 ~

If your heart is full of love; you’ll always have something to give.
~ Unknown Author ~

Hello friends. (smile) Welcome Lexa and co-hosts to another blessed Friday to celebrate the small things. (wink)

Sometimes, we just need to let things go, keep the faith, and celebrate the small things.

I celebrate having the day off and sleeping in this morning. I celebrate those in my life that bring balance.

I celebrate a faith filled life with all its ebbs and flows.

I celebrate joining a poetry class. Wahoo, something to do. (grin)

I celebrate answered prayers. Thank you Lord!

Abundant blessings, my friends, as we just keep the faith and celebrate the small things. (smile)

Feel free to share your thoughts.

Even if you are not the best, you are better than those who never try.

Hello friends. (smile) I extend a warm welcome to Alex Cavanaugh and the IWSG September co-hosts, Laura at My Baffling Brain, Mark Koopmans, Shah Wharton, and Sheena-Kay Graham.

IWSG celebrates their three year anniversary of posting! Wahoo, Happy Anniversary! (smile)

Don’t mind criticism is my encouragement this month. What wisdom in the criticism quote below. I like it. (wink)

Something new to practice! (smile)

Sometimes, we have to wonder about the motives behind those who love to criticize others. (shock face) Free will, I suppose.

Believing in our abilities, where we know that we know, helps to deflect criticism. This is where faith and confidence grows, each time, we do our own thing, regardless of critics.

Sometimes, criticism is a good thing. It forces us out, of our comfort zone, to bigger and better opportunities.

Remember Romans 8:28, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Sometimes, God has something better. Wahoo, thank you Lord!

Blessings, my friends, by faith, as we look at criticism from a different perspective and as Alex likes to remind us–have fun along the way. (smile)

Nurture

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. ~ Romans 14:19 ~

Hello friends (smile) What a beautiful quote below. A positive perspective on Nurture.

Nurture, like love, kindness and peace, must begin within us first, to be able to give and do for others. When we’re balanced, things and stuff, roll off, like water off a duck. (smile)

We able to keep a peaceful mind set. We able to keep our sense of humor. We able to smile because we can.

Words, we speak have such power to overcome anything. There are times, we may become overwhelmed, we need to have faith that when we unplug from busyness, life will goes on. We come back stronger and refreshed. (smile)

Some moments require stillness to get our bearings, even the need to break the day into increments. Trust me, it’s been my survival mechanism for the past few weeks. (smile)

I believe God puts certain X, Y and Z’s, in our life, to help us grow. (shock face) Ever wonder why we pray and bless our enemies. ( shock face)

Nurturing, like kindness, is a blessing to ourself and those we nurture in moving to the next step in our life. We always remember kindness. (smile)

Blessings, my friends, by faith, as we nurture ourself and those around us today! (smile) As always, feel free to share your thoughts. (smile)

Encouragement

Romans 14:19 – Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

Everyone is dealing with something. Encouragement gives us strength to endure. Encouragement lets us know, we’re not alone. Encouragement is about believing we can get that promotion; we can relocate and start over; we don’t have to settle for less than God’s best; or fill in the blank________________.

Encouragement is making an effort to help someone see their struggle is temporary. Encouragement is keeping peace in unkind situations. They are challenges all around us, I’ve learned that we can only control ourself. Breathe, remain calm and listen. We don’t have to participate in angry ranting and raving.

It’s takes two. Most times, people just need to vent, so be a pair of ears that listen. This would be encouragement by presence, no words needed. (smile)

Encouragement is rare these days. When did we stop talking and encouraging one another? These days, it appears, it’s about what we don’t do or what we don’t have. (shock face)

The possibilities are endless to what encouragement can do for each and everyone of us. (smile)

Thoughts and comments are welcomed. (smile)

Be blessed, encouraged and enjoy your day! (smile)
